AAM1 Coating Services specialise in a range of services. Below is some information on the different products we can offer;
Polymer Modified (Acrylic) Cement Renders
This type of render contains polymer additives within the mixture and is often referred to as “Acrylic Render”. The “acrylic” makes the render much stronger and more flexible than traditional cement rendering mixes. These products are manufactured so that the same mixture is contained within each bag, giving consistency to render finishes.
Benefits:
- Higher bond to the substrate
- Good resistance to abrasion
- Excellent weather resistance
Cement Render
Cement rendering is the application of a mixture of sand, cement, and other additives, applied generally over masonry (brick, block) surfaces.
Cement Render can be overcoated with texture, coloured textures or painted after application. It is generally used on exterior walls but can be used to feature an interior wall.
Depending on the ‘look’ required, rendering can be fine or coarse, textured or smooth, natural or coloured, pigmented or painted.
Cement Render and Polymer Modified Cement Render Finishes
A number of decorative effects can be achieved using different finishing techniques on the final coat of your rendered surface. This will be dependent on the look you are after and the type of substrate being rendered.
- Trowel Finish – This is achieved by skimming the final coat using a wooden float, to produce a smooth dense surface.
- Bagged / Patterned Finish – This is achieved by rubbing a ball of damp hessian into the surface which produces patterns depending on the application method.
- Sponge Finish – Mopping or sponging the hardened surface with a damp sponge achieves a sponge texture finish. This will appear smooth and brings out the “grain” of the sand as the texture
- Roughcast Finish – Throwing and flicking the final coat onto the surface achieves a roughcast finish, no re-touching is carried out, the way it lands is how it looks.
- Textured Finish – Textured finishes can be achieved by the addition of a coarser aggregate being added to the mix for the final coat.
Acrylic Texture Render
Acrylic texture is a flexible coating system that protects against unsightly render cracking and staining and keeps your house / building looking great for longer.
Acrylic Texture systems can be applied to various forms of building materials, including but not limited to;
- Brick
- Concrete Block
- Painted Brick/Painted Render
- Hebel Power Panel
- AFS Logicwall
- Dincel and other plastic Formwork System
- Blue Board
- FC Sheeting
- Polystyrene Cladding

- Trowel Finish – This is achieved by skimming the final coat using a wooden floats to produce a smooth dense surface.
- Bagged / Patterned Finish – This is achieved by rubbing a ball of damp hessian into the surface which produces patterns depending on the style of rubbing.
- Sponge Finish – Mopping or sponging the hardened surface with a camp sponge achieves a sponge texture finish.
- Care should be taken not to let water run down the wall spoiling the finish by washing the cement out of the render.
- Roughcast Finish – Throwing and flicking the final coat onto the surface achieves a roughcast finish, no re-touching is carried out, the way it lands is how it looks.
